Get to know Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Jian Shen, who serves patients in the State of New York.

Dr. Shen is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery. He has performed over 4500 minimally invasive spine surgeries, including over 2000 endoscopic surgeries of lumbar, cervical, and thoracic spine. Dr. Shen is currently serving patients at Mohawk Valley Orthopedics, P.C. in Amsterdam, New York. Jian Shen, MD, PhD, FAAOS, attended Joan & Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York, NY, and received his medical degree in 2002. Furthermore, he conducted his residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center (2002-2007). In addition, he completed his fellowship training in spine surgery at the University of California at San Francisco (2010-2011). Dr. Shen received board certification in orthopedic surgeon from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He is a member of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery and the North American Spine Society and Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. The founding member of the International Society of Endoscopic Spine Surgery, Dr. Shen is an active clinical researcher as well as presenter. He has presented papers at the 2012 III World Congress of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery and Techniques, 2012 and 2013 SMISS Annual Meeting, and the 2013 Annual Meeting of the Minimally Invasive Neurological Society.
